GREAT MUSIC AND DANCE

The **South Coast Clambake Music Festival** is Coos Bay - North Bend's big annual music weekend, held every March at the **Ko-Kwel Casino Resort | Coos Bay**.

Despite the name, it's not about clams - "Clambake" is an old musicians' term for a jam session.

Started in 1988 by local musicians, it's a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to promote and preserve America's original music and support the local economy and youth music programs.

Today it's a 4-day, 3 venue party under one roof, each with its own sound system and dance floor. The lineup pulls bands from across the country playing traditional jazz, '50s rock, swing, doo-wop, blues, big band and Zydeco.

It's known as a favorite for dancers and music lovers up and down the West Coast - polish up your dancing' shoes is kind of the motto.
